"Bouquet on a Mantle"

This painting takes advantage of space, trimming subjects to only those which are important: The bouquet unraveling on top of a mantelpiece, and the mantelpiece itself. The unraveling is about action, while the solid, dark mantle anchors the work, cutting space in two above and below itself. Available at


  1. Hey Cat - gorgeous piece! It's so dynamic, I love the use of negative space below the flowers - it creates an energizing tension. Love it. Still life is definitely not for the faint of heart.
